Provisional Mill Bay Project info:

Breaking News        A new project / fellowship is starting in the Mill Bay / Shawnigan Lake area south of Duncan B.C.

This is sponsored by the newly formed Anglican Network in Canada.

My name is Andrew Hewlett. I’ve been an ordained pastor / priest in the Anglican Church for just over 20 years (serving on Vancouver Island) and I’ve recently joined the Anglican Network in Canada (ANiC).

A number of people in the Mill Bay / Shawnigan Lake area (South of  Duncan)  have contacted the Anglican Network in Canada regarding the possibility of establishing a new ANiC fellowship in the Cowichan Valley. Although there is much work yet to be done it looks like this will be a “go.” I’m excited that I'll be playing a role in this new venture.

Although I am currently Associate Priest at the "Open Gate Anglican Church" in Langford I will (with the support and blessing of Open Gate church - the nearest regional ANiC church) be exploring the possibility of establishing an Anglican Network Church in the  Cowichan Valley.  The plan is to begin with some informal meetings in Mill Bay. We will start by studying the scriptures and celebrating Holy Communion in people’s homes. My prayer is that in due time we will need to meet in a larger space possibly on a Sunday evening.

We envision a worshiping community that:
-- Is Christ centred.  We acknowledge that Jesus is “the way, the truth, the life.” (John 14:6)
-- Is honoring to God’s Word – the Bible. We want to Uphold Orthodox Anglican theology and practice.
-- Is Joyous and Grace filled. As a fellowship in the evangelical tradition we are convinced that the gospel is good news.
-- Is Missional. We desire to share this good news. We long for others to know Jesus as Lord and Savior.
-- Is Compassionate. Jesus said to his disciples, “As the father sent me, so I send you.” (John 20:19-23)
-- Is Welcoming. Jesus said, “Come unto me all you who are weary and heavy laden...” (Matt 11:28)
